Attached to the owner's property, Le Bignac, nonetheless enjoys privacy and has independent access and its own private garden. The accommodation is all on one level and in usual french style, comprises a well equipped open plan kitchen/living/dining room, 2 bedrooms and a shower room with separate wc. The furnishings and decorations are to a high standard. Glazed doors open onto the garden where there are table and chairs for outside dining and a barbecue. A swimming pool, which overlooks the vineyards, has recently been built and is shared with the owners and one other gite (see C1629), the pool is open between the hours of 10am and 7pm. Nearby is the lovely château of Talleyrand at Chalais (20kms) and there is a river for swimming in Brossac. This area is ideal for those who enjoy walking in the countryside as there are many walks close by Le Bignac. The Voie verte, or green walks, will take you up to 25 kms away as far as Barbezieux. Nearby, Chevanceaux has everyday shops and restaurants. |
